Ken Mack

CEO and President

Ken Mack

Ken Mack joined Northern States Metals in September 2015 as Executive Vice President of Operations and Engineering. Prior to joining NSM, Mr. Mack was with Permco Inc., a manufacturer of high-pressure hydraulic pumps, as the Director of Global Supply Chain, where he was responsible for manufacturing facilities in the US and China. Before this role, he was Purchasing Manager for Global Purchasing at Federal-Mogul Corporation, a $7 billion manufacturer of vehicle powertrain and safety components, with responsibility for over 30 manufacturing facilities. Mr. Mack started his career at General Motors where he spent 16 years in increasing roles of responsibility, in the metal fabricating division and in various engineering and production positions, and ultimately as the Manufacturing Operations Manager and Engineering Group Manager for various divisions of GM. Mr. Mack holds an MBA and MEM from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University/GMI Engineering & Management Institute.


Susan Will


Susan Will

Susan Will joined Northern States Metals in August 2015 as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Will is an accomplished financial executive with a strong portfolio of successes. Prior to joining NSM, Ms. Will spent 8 years as Vice President at Mylvan N.S., a $7 billion pharmaceutical company, where she drove the successful integration of large multi-billion dollar international acquisitions. Her previous experience includes 6 years at Alcoa Inc., a $22 billion global leader in the metals industry, in increasing roles of responsibility. Prior to that, Ms. Will was Vice President and Controller of Lucent Technologies, where she managed finance and IT for a $100 million subsidiary and received the Lucent Strategic Excellence Award. Ms. Will began her career in public accounting at PwC. Ms. Will is a CPA and holds a BA in Economics from Washington and Jefferson College, where she was Summa Cum Laude.

Vice President of Industrial Product Sales

Mark Fonte

Mark Fonte joined Northern States Metals in January of 2021 as Vice President of Industrial Product Sales.  Before joining Northern States Metals, Mr. Fonte spent more than twenty years in sales and business development roles in the extrusions, industrial products, automotive and commercial vehicle and sectors.  Most recently, Mr. Fonte was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Gordon Aluminum, an aluminum extruder, and fabricated components supplier.  Previously, Mr. Fonte was with Maxion Wheels, a global producer of aluminum and steel wheels for the commercial vehicle market, for 5 years.  Mr. Fonte was also with Alcoa, an $11 billion multinational materials company for 7 years beginning as Extrusions Sales Manager and working his way up to the Business Development Manager.  Mr. Fonte began his career in the automotive industry with Trico Products Corporation as a quality engineer and took on roles of increased responsibilities in reliability engineering and warranty analysis.  Upon completion of his MBA, Mr. Fonte moved away from the technical side and into more business-focused roles as a Business Unit Financial Manager, Project Manager, and finally into a commercial sales role.  Mr. Fonte’s previous experience also includes international sales, business development, and marketing roles working with customers like Ford, General Motors, BMW, Daimler Trucks, and Volvo/Mack.  Mr. Fonte holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the New York State University College at Buffalo and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Oakland University.
